About me

The first school I’ve finished was University of Construction, being construction engineer, and the second one was University of Mathematics and Computer Science. After this one I’ve done Master in Computer Science.
The last school was Arts and Technical Photography. The photography fascinated me from childhood, and the first camera, was a Smena, a Russian camera on film.I’ve started to shoot in 1983.
Today I use DSLR cameras, but I don’t forget the film cameras, so I shoot on film even today. One day I’ll post photos done on film.
The conclusion is I love to learn, to read, and of course visual arts.I like paintings and pictures, classical and crossover music, I like mountains and the sea, everything is beautiful.
My vision in photography is a little bit different from others, I prefer to set my camera as perfectly as I can, and to use software (Light Room or Photoshop), for little rares and to put my name on it.
I use different cameras, from Olympus, Pentax to Nikon or Canon full frame for digital photography and on film from Voigtlander Bessa to Nikon even Russian cameras, and be sure I love them all.

Digital Cameras and Lenses that I used for my art :

Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D.

For all Canon camera I use these lenses:

-Canon 24-105 mm/L f4
-Canon 17-40 mm/L f4

-Canon 70-200 mm/L f4
-Samyang 85 mm/f1.4
-Samyang 8mm/f3.5 (fish eye)
-Canon 50mm/f1.8
-Tamron 70-300mm/f4-5.6

Blitz Canon 430 EX

Nikon D810.

For Nikon camera I use these lenses:

-Nikon 50mm/f1.8

-Tamron 90mm/f2.8 (macro).

-Tokina 24-70mm/f2.8.

-Blitz Nikon SB-700

Pentax Kr and Pentax K5 with lenses Sigma 18-200mm/f3.5-6.3.

-Tokina 135mm, Tokina 35-70mm (45 years old).

Sony A35 with lenses Sony 35mm/f1.8, Minolta 35-70mm/f2.8-4.5, Tamron 55-200mm/f3.5-6.3

Olympus E450 with lenses Olympus 14-42mm and 40-140mm.

Mirrorless cameras:

Olympus EP1; Olympus OM-D E-M10. Lenses Olympus 17mm/f2.8,Olympus 14-42mm.
Lumix/Panasonic DMC-G3 with 14-40mm.
Sony NEX5 with lenses Sony 16-50mm and Sigma 19mm, 30mm, 60mm all with f2.8.
Sony A6000.

I could say that the lenses of Panasonic and Olympus have the same bayonetta.

Others:

-Tripod Cullmann Magnesit 522
-Monopod Slik 350
-polarization filters for every lens.
-nd filters
-nd gradual filters
-art filters

and many others.

  2. Paul,

Thank you SOOO much for taking the time to read our blog post about the hurdles me and my family are facing during this time which was shared on Michael Lai’s blog. We are working on garnering support for the cancer relief crowdfunding campaign my brother and I made for our mom who is fighting third stage colon cancer. Just you taking the time to read seriously is so awesome to us. If you can please share/reblog our cause or promote our page wherever you can. I trust that you can help make a significant impact on our small, humble family.

    Thank you again!

  6. Hi Paul,

Just want to thank you for all the Likes (great encouragement indeed) you have entered on my posts and all the lovely photographs you share daily. It’s always so lovely to ‘hear’ from you. If you were to post me a photo, what kind of photo would that be? It’s a hard one because I do love lots of your photographs.

Just a random thought. Happy Weekend.

  7. I came here to say I love your header, as I do. But I’m glad I read about you. I studied chemical engineering for my first degree in the mid to late 70’s. Then I dropped off the grid and stayed home to take care of the four children my husband and I produced. Took a lot of family snapshots. I went back to school after everyone flew the coop and studied English, Communications, and Photography. Quite a change from the technical courses in my previous lifetime. I have joined a photography group here in town, and am trying to learn the finer points of Lightroom and Elements, but I can appreciate the purist like yourself. I know some here. My children are mostly artistic type designers, so I have an interest in the artistic possibilities of the photograph and software combination, although I have little to no talent in that area.

Looking forward to following you and seeing your shots.

    • Wow, very interesting life you have, let’s say like mine…thanks a lot for the beautiful words you said about my work, but believe me, my artistic sense is native…so I am …so crazy a lot about photography. My header is made by me with a Pentax K-r camera and with the lens Tokina older than me… ๐Ÿ™‚
Well good luck in photography and “welcome on board !!! ” ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I live taking photos too. I don’t have a very good camera though. It’s just a 16mp Nikkon. I just don’t have the money to buy a better one at this time.
I love seeing your photos. You do a great job capturing the moment.
Best wishes for your continued success,
Oh, How do you get your signature on your photos? I’d like to do that as well.

  19. Hello Paul, I don’t think I have ever thanked you for your continuing support for my blog. I am very honoured because you are truly a photographer & I am not, but I like to tell my stories & I am happy that they interest you. I read comments above, I see that you also do not accept awards and I agree with you, for the same reason: our fellow bloggers are our best reward.

  20. Yes, sounds an expensive activity! My daughter’s a keen photographer, (I must feature her on my blog one day,) my grandfather and uncle ran a photography business in Edinburgh many years ago. My cousin is an artist. My eldest daughter and I write. So photography and creativity seem to run in the family. ๐Ÿ™‚
